I have been obsessed with various forms of art since I can remember. Aside from majoring in art in high school and taking a course in Chinese watercolor while living in Taiwan, I consider myself self-taught. I believe that you can not be "taught" to be an artist, you can only be shown how to use different techniques to express your individual talents.

I've been involved in some sort of craft all my life including, but not limited to, sewing, needlework, crocheting, woodworking, leatherwork, painting, drawing, and graphic design. I work a lot with mixed media and media such as clay, plastic, leather and metal that allows me to mold and carve what I design in my mind.

I've always had a love for Native American culture and crafts. This is more than likely due to the fact that I have a great-grandmother back in my ancestry that was a full-blooded Mohawk from the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and Akwesasne Territory on the St. Lawrence River bordering New York and Canada. You will find a selection of Native American items in the Native Spirit section of my site.

I have found that designing and making jewelry gives me the largest pallet for expressing my creative side. The process of making jewelry is as much a part of the design as the actual crafting. The design is limited only by my imagination. A design progresses as I work on a piece. I usually don't have a specific design in mind when I begin. I let the mood of the beads and colors determine the spirit of the piece.

Each piece is created by me in my studio.  I use wire, sterling silver, 14k gold, silver-plate and gold-plate, copper and other metals along with a variety of beads, stones, and found objects in my work. Most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind because I prefer to work "freeform" - that is, without following a pattern or using a template. I will also do limited editions and custom work.

When the mood strikes I will put away my beads and pick up my paint brush or leather working tools, so you will find a variety of items on my site. Please check back often to see what has been added. If you have anything in mind that you would like me to create for you please contact me.
